March Break Camps

Artificial Intelligence (AI)

Discover how AI works, even for grade one students!

Age groups: 6 - 12

AI Summer Camp

This summer camp will teach students the basics of artificial intelligence (AI). Students will learn how to create their own machine learning models to classify images, predict labels, and computer vision. This camp is perfect for students who are interested in learning how AI can be used to solve real-world problems. No prior experience with AI is required.

Projects for Ages 6 - 8:

  • Ripe Fruit Checker:
    • Learn how to use machine learning to identify ripe fruits accurately.
    • Collect a dataset of fruit images and labels.
    • Train a model to classify fruits as ripe or unripe.
    • Evaluate the model's performance and fine-tune it for better results.
  • Head Tilt Detection:
    • Discover the power of machine learning in detecting head tilts.
    • Gather a dataset of images or videos with tilted and non-tilted heads.
    • Extract facial landmarks and key features to represent head orientation.
    • Train a model to classify tilted and non-tilted heads.
  • Snap Clap Whistle:
    • Explore the exciting world of audio classification using machine learning.
    • Collect a dataset of snap, clap, and whistle sounds.
    • Preprocess the audio data and extract useful features.
    • Train a model to classify different sounds accurately.
  • Mask Detection:
    • Gather a dataset of images or video frames with people wearing and not wearing masks.
    • Train a model to detect and classify mask-wearing accurately.

Projects for Ages 9+:

  • Build a snake game that is controlled by physical gestures and pictures.
  • Sorter that sorts different objects using Computer Vision.

LEGO Robotics with Spike

Build and program LEGO robots that move and react intelligently with the newest Spike sets!

Age groups: 6 - 12

LEGO Robotics Summer Camp

For many students, the LEGO bricks are familiar yet the programmable motors and sensors make the LEGO robots much more advanced. Using LEGO's newest Spike Essential and Spike Prime sets, we have created a large set of robots that students will have a lot of fun building. Once the robot is built, students will learn coding basics to make their robot move and react intelligently to its surroundings! See highlights from our LEGO Robotics with Spike Camp ↗

The LEGO Robotics Camp has the following weekly themes:

Animals:
Build animal robots, learn background knowledge and facts about each animal, like what they eat and where they live, etc.

Cars & Vehicles:
Build cars and vehicle robots, learn how they operate (how does a helicopter fly?) and how they are used in the real world.

Skills students will acquire and practice throughout the camp:

Fine Motor Skills
Spatial Recognition
Attention to Details
Logic & Reasoning
Creativity
Investigative Thinking
Coding
Science Exploration
Teamwork & Collaboration
Public Speaking
