LEGO SPIKE Essential is a robot made for education. For many students, the LEGO bricks are familiar yet the programmable motors and sensors make LEGO SPIKE Essential much more advanced. We have created a large set of fun projects that include animals, cars, and toys that students can build and program with.
LEGO SPIKE Essential engages students in hands-on investigation of STEAM concepts using everyday themes. In addition to learning computer science and design engineering concepts, students will also develop their literacy, math, and social-emotional skills as they turn concepts into reality.
By completing the Robotics with LEGO SPIKE Essential classes, students will learn to follow instructions to build the robots and to customize their robots by programming. Robotics is a great way to introduce programming as any changes the student makes to the program is reflected in the physical world. As an example, by turning the motor on for double the time, students can see that the robot travelled twice the distance.
Our approach is to develop well-rounded students. For younger students, the best way to learn is through fun, hands-on activities each class. At each level, students will get a balance of:
