Discover how AI works, even for grade one students!
Age groups: 6 - 12
This summer camp will teach students the basics of artificial intelligence (AI). Students will learn how to create their own machine learning models to classify images, predict labels, and computer vision. This camp is perfect for students who are interested in learning how AI can be used to solve real-world problems. No prior experience with AI is required.
Projects for Ages 6 - 8:
Projects for Ages 9+:
Skills students will acquire and practice throughout the camp:
Discover how electronic devices are designed and built!
Age groups: 9 - 12
This summer camp will teach students to design and build circuits using Arduino, a popular microcontroller platform that makes building circuits easy and fun! Circuits are the foundation of all electronics, from simple light switches to the most advanced mobile phones. Students will experiment with LEDs, motors, and sensors to build and program different projects, from drawing schematics, to building the circuit, to programming the circuit board - in other words, the entire process of circuit design!
Projects
Skills students will acquire and practice throughout the camp:
Conquer obstacles and win battles with programming and AI!
Age groups: 9 - 12
The Robomaster S1 robot is the latest education robot from DJI (the drone company). Students will learn to program the robot and customize the robot's AI (artificial intelligence) to conquer obstacle courses, races, and battles. Different challenges and battles will be set up everyday where a new champion will be crowned!
Skills students will acquire and practice throughout the camp:
Build and program LEGO robots that move and react intelligently with the newest Spike sets!
Age groups: 6 - 12
For many students, the LEGO bricks are familiar yet the programmable motors and sensors make the LEGO robots much more advanced. Using LEGO's newest Spike Essential and Spike Prime sets, we have created a large set of robots that students will have a lot of fun building. Once the robot is built, students will learn coding basics to make their robot move and react intelligently to its surroundings! See highlights from our LEGO Robotics Camp ↗
The LEGO Robotics Camp has the following weekly themes:
Animals:
Build animal robots, learn background knowledge and facts about each animal, like what they eat and where they live, etc.
Cars & Vehicles:
Build cars and vehicle robots, learn how they operate (how does a helicopter fly?) and how they are used in the real world.
Skills students will acquire and practice throughout the camp:
Go behind the scenes of how games are actually made!
Age groups: 6 - 12
Let your child's creativity flow in our Game Development camp! Students will learn how to make fun, graphical video games on either the iPad (for ages 6-8) or the PC (for ages 9 - 12), no coding experience required. Students will replicate famous/classic games, or create their own, by drawing the characters and building the game from the ground up. Along the way, students will learn many game concepts to make their games realistic, challenging, and fun! The end result will be an iPad or a PC game that your child will be proud to let their friends play! See highlights from our Game Development Camp ↗
The Game Development Camp has the following weekly projects that students will be able to build from the ground up:
Angry Birds (iPad, ages 6 - 8):
The game revolves around a group of birds whose eggs are stolen by a legion of green pigs, who wish to eat them. Players sling birds on a slingshot to try and knock down the pigs.
Agar.io (iPad, ages 6 - 8):
Players control a cell in a map representing a petri dish; the goal is to gain as much mass as possible by swallowing smaller cells without being swallowed by bigger ones.
Pac-Man (PC, ages 9 - 12):
The player controls Pac-Man, who must eat all the dots inside an enclosed maze while avoiding four colored ghosts. Eating large flashing dots called power pellets causes the ghosts to turn blue, allowing Pac-Man to eat them for bonus points.
Super Mario (PC, ages 9 - 12):
Mario runs and jumps across platforms and atop enemies, rescuing the kidnapped Princess Peach from the primary antagonist, Bowser.
Thunder Force (PC, ages 9 - 12):
The player controls a plane that shoots down incoming enemies while the screen advances slowly to move the game along.
Skills students will acquire and practice throughout the camp:
Don't just play Roblox games, make them!
Age groups: 9 - 12
Roblox is an online gaming platform that brings together millions of players and game developers through immersive 3D experiences. But we are not here to play games. We are here to CREATE GAMES! Our Roblox curriculum teaches students how to create their Roblox game from the ground up by drawing game elements and programming them to interact with the world. Programming in Roblox uses Lua - a scripting language built for games, web applications and image processing. Students will build gradually more sophisticated games as they progress through our curriculum.
The Roblox Game Development Camp has the following weekly projects that students will be able to build from the ground up:
Mario Galaxy:
Students will be building a Mario Galaxy-like game in 3D, a platforming game where Mario will have to beat smart enemies, overcome obstacles, and earn powerups along the way!
Treasure Hunt:
Students will be building a game full of traps and enemies to collect buried treasure hidden all around a 3D maze before time runs out.
Arcade:
Students will be building classic arcade games made 3D like space invaders and frogger.
Skills students will acquire and practice throughout the camp:
Coding is a crucial skill for the future of work
Age groups: 6 - 12
Our coding camp makes coding fun by having students create original games from the ground up in Scratch (ages 6 -8) or Python (ages 9 - 12). Students will learn the fundamentals of coding, think logically to breakdown complex problems, and practice by creating fun games. After coming to our camp, your child will be well on their way to solving the world's biggest problems! See highlights from our Coding Camp ↗
The Coding Camp has the following weekly projects that students will be able to build from the ground up:
Whac-A-Mole (Scratch, ages 6 - 8):
Moles pop up from their holes at random. The object of the game is to force the individual moles back into their holes by hitting them directly on the head with the mallet, thereby adding to the player's score.
Catch the Dots (Scratch, ages 6 - 8):
The player matches up coloured dots with the correct colour of the controller wheel.
Shoot the Fruit (Python, ages 9 - 12):
The player shoots the fruit when the fruit appears on the screen to accumulate points.
Dance Challenge (Python, ages 9 - 12):
The dancer performs a sequence of moves. The player has to remember the sequence and repeat the moves using arrow keys on the keyboard.
Sleeping Dragons (Python, ages 9 - 12):
The player collects eggs from dragons that sleep and wake up at different times. Dragons wake up and breathe fire. Player loses life if he/she is too close to the fire.
